Hi Everyone!

I know I’ve been a bit of an absentee blogger lately. I’ve been in the Writing Cave, getting guest blogs underway for the upcoming blogging tour for the release of Chicks Dig the Accent in late August, and I’m currently finishing up the second book in this Costa Mesa series that I plan to submit on the 31st. I’m absolutely in love with it.

I’ll be a lot more active in August with proper blogs and information on the blog tour. Until then, please enjoy this sneak peek into my new series that I’m writing. This excerpt is from Book 1, Batten Down the Hatches.

The art in this post of Piper Goldhirsch and Jack Spencer at the Halloween Ball was commissioned by Bianca and Natalie Duarte, twin sisters who also happen to be very gifted artists, and have done the other art you’ve seen for Evan and Molly from Chicks Dig the Accent.

I’m in love with their style, and they are both immeasurably talented. If you want to see more of their artwork, you can visit their tumblr accounts at:

Please be advised that some of the tumblr content is NSFW. Bianca drew the art where Piper is leaning over, and Natalie drew the art where she’s sitting on the pool table. Enjoy the excerpt below; I will be blogging more regularly in August as soon as this book is written. 😉 Remember to subscribe to Twitter for more recent updates. I will follow everyone back but porn or spam accounts.

All the best,

Roxanne

Teaser Excerpt:

Jack crossed his arms and leaned against the pillar. He frowned as he watched the beautiful woman join a group of costumed folks. He’d showed up at this party year after year, at the same over the top house with the same cheesy Halloween music, with the same rich, ridiculous people. This year he’d been determined not to be recognized so he wouldn’t be drawn into empty conversations. His friend Mike loaned him the pirate costume, and it seemed to be working; no one had noticed who he was. He’d been bored out of his gourd and itched to go back to his boat, when she walked in.

Right away he knew she was different. She was tall, even in the heels, with a curvy, hourglass figure, and an ocean of dark curls on her head that he longed to bury his nose in. But it was in the way she carried herself. This woman was confident, and poised like a queen. She’d gone for a unique choice with her eyes too. Instead of a mask, she had the kind of fancy fairy face painting he’d seen at the carnivals along the pier of Balboa Island where his cruise company was, butterfly wings bracketing each pretty eye, but it looked more advanced, like she’d paid someone to do it for her.

People knew her, whoever she was, and before she’d even walked with the older guy out onto the dance floor, she was swarmed by a group of people. Huh. Must be an actress or celebrity. He moved behind the pillars as she walked further into the room, and watched her. She had a pretty smile, and was the best thing he’d seen all night. Aside from the three guests here he knew from the Inland Nautical Society, everyone else was an actor, writer, or someone from the entertainment industry.

She didn’t seem like the nautical wayfaring type, though. She threw her head back and laughed at the older guy, then turned her head and caught his eye again. Her lips parted, and he went hard. “Hello, Legs,” he muttered, and when she looked away, he strode toward her.
